Annapolis, MD – The Bay Theatre Company, the professional theatre of Annapolis, will add three performances to the scheduled run of its current production, Barefoot in the Park by Neil Simon. Responding to glowing reviews and popular demand, the company will perform a Sunday evening show on February 26 at 7:30 p.m. as well as two Saturday matinees, February 18 and March 4 at 3:00 p.m. These offerings supplement the originally scheduled performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. The two remaining Sunday matinees are sold out. Barefoot in the Park closes on Saturday, March 4, 2006
Barefoot in the Park features Megan Dominy, a University of Oklahoma theatre graduate residing in Silver Spring, in the role of Corie, and Ben Russo, fresh from Bay Theatre’s Fool for Love, as Paul. Lucinda Merry-Browne, co-founder and artistic director of The Bay Theatre Company, plays Corie’s mother, Mrs. Banks. Chris Poverman, of Baltimore, returns to The Bay Theatre stage for the third time, having appeared previously in Art and The Sneeze, this time portraying the neighbor, Victor Velasco. Mark Poremba, also of Baltimore, completes the cast as the telephone repair man. Barefoot in the Park is directed by Peter Wray, a Towson University professor, professional director and Equity actor, seen last season in The Bay Theatre’s production of Arms and the Man.
Tickets are $22 for general admission, $17 for students (with student ID) and seniors (age 65 or over). Group discounts are available. Performances are held at The Bay Theatre Company, 275 West Street, in Annapolis, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. The theatre space is located on the lower level of the West Garrett Office building, and complimentary parking is available in the garage adjacent to the building.
